For Story Hour this week, Paula will read Pond Babies, which was written and illustrated by Gorham resident Cathryn Falwell. Afterwards, the children will glue pictures of mother animals next to their baby animals. Wednesday, May 28, from 10:30 to 11:30.
If you'd like to join the club, all you need is a library card, which can be provided on the spot at no charge, even if you aren't a Gorham resident.
The next meeting is in the library on Monday, June 2, from 11 am to noon. Meetings are usually on the 4th Monday of the month, but because of Memorial Day, it is a week later this time.
Caps for Sale! I remember reading that book over and over again to my daughters when they were little. After the children hear Paula reading it to them at Story Hour this week, they'll play “Pin the Cap on the Monkey.” Then they'll be able to color a cute little monkey to take home. Our newly formed After Work Book Club is reading The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix. Even if you haven't had a chance to read the book, you are welcome to join the group. The next meeting is on Wednesday, June 18, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The Monday Morning Book Club will meet in the library on Monday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to noon. This month's book is North Woods by Daniel Mason. We have copies at the library If you need one.
