SUMMARY:Story Hour
DESCRIPTION:Happy Birthday\, Dr. Seuss! Paula is going to read One Fish\, Two Fish\, Red Fish\, Blue Fish\, and then the children will get to go fishing. They’ll each get a little fishing pole with a magnet tied to the end of a string and there’ll be fish with a paper clip attached scattered on the floor. Some games they might play are counting how many fish they caught or identifying the colors of their fish. They’ll wind up their fishing expedition with some singing. Here’s a joke for you. What do you call a fish that sings? A tune-a fish! Hope to see you

SUMMARY:Story Hour
DESCRIPTION:For this week’s Story Hour\, Paula will read Glad Monster\, Sad Monster by Ed Emberley and Anne Miranda. The children will be prompted to tell what makes them sad\, glad\, mad\, etc. They’ll get to sing ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’ along with other other movement songs. Paula is also bringing some flannel pieces shaped like empty faces and the children will be able to add flannel eyes\, noses\, mouths\, ears\, and hair to make a complete face — funny or serious. They will be able to share how their face is feeling. Right now\, this is making me feel happy! How about you?

SUMMARY:Book Club
DESCRIPTION:For March\, the Book Club is reading Mrs. Sinclair’s Suitcase by Louise Walters. \n\n\n\nA heartbreaking and deeply compelling debut\, Mrs. Sinclair’s Suitcase is a compulsive page-turner about thwarted love\, dashed hopes\, and family secrets—book club fiction at its best.Roberta\, a lonely thirty-four-year-old bibliophile\, works at The Old and New Bookshop in England. When she finds a letter inside her centenarian grandmother’s battered old suitcase that hints at a dark secret\, her understanding of her family’s history is completely upturned. Running alongside Roberta’s narrative is that of her grandmother\, Dorothy\, as a forty-year-old childless woman desperate for motherhood during the early years of World War II. After a chance encounter with a Polish war pilot\, Dorothy believes she’s finally found happiness\, but must instead make an unthinkable decision whose consequences forever change the framework of her family. The parallel stories of Roberta and Dorothy unravel over eighty years as they make their way through secrets\, lies\, sacrifices\, and love. Utterly absorbing\, Mrs. Sinclair’s Suitcase is a spellbinding tale of two worlds\, one shattered by secrets and the other by the truth.
