DESCRIPTION:We will read The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead for our June Book Club. In 2016 The Underground Railroad won the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction and the National Book Award. It was also named one of the Ten Best Books of the Year. The book chronicles a young slave’s journey as she makes a desperate bid for freedom in the antebellum South. \n\n\n\nThe Book Club will meet at North Gorham Library on Monday\, June 24 from 11 to noon. You are welcome to participate even if you haven’t read the book.
